The success of our region relies on a thriving public education system providing equitable access to learning and skill-building essential for Houston's workforce needs. The State of Education recognizes the broader landscape and challenges facing the public education sector. From addressing equity gaps to adapting to changing learning environments, there are numerous factors influencing the quality and accessibility of education in Houston and beyond.   Additionally, we are proud to highlight Houston Independent School District (HISD) and Superintendent Mike Miles as models of the impactful work being undertaken in the public education sector. Nearly a year after the state's intervention, Superintendent Miles will provide valuable insights and updates into the transformation of the district's culture of performance and accountability, showcasing how these efforts better position the future of education in Houston.
